Hi all, I am new to the forums and I am only 11 years old! Even though I am young, I love birding and I was at panama a while ago and spotted this bird, Possibly American coot?

Welcome to the forum Phainopepla6. It is very gratifying to see young people like yourself taking up this fabulous hobby of birding.
I would say that is an American Coot so you are off to a good start. And don't worry about the quality of your pictures; that will improve over time. As for the camera - we all started out with a basic set-up and then once you get comfortable with that it’s time to start looking at an upgrade. Watch the Buy & Sell section of this forum because sometimes you can get a pretty good deal.
