Violet-Green Swallow.
Some nice additions, James. Looks like the harrier was having difficulty holding on in the wind.

American Widgeon at Blue Heron Beach, Yellowpoint, Mar 25.
The rattling noise is the image stabilization on my lens. You can hear the growling noises from the females and the usual whistling from the males.

White-Crowned Sparrow at Crofton.
There were lots of House sparrows here too, including one (I assume it was a House Sparrow) that was almost completely white. I did not manage to get a picture of it.

Greater White-fronted Geese at the Dyke Trail Duncan. I'm glad we braved the rain and saw these geese along with Cackling Geese and a pair of Cinnamon Teal.

Cackling Geese at Dyke Trail, Duncan. You can hear both Canada and Cackling geese calls near the end. There appear to be different sizes, but I think at least the smaller ones are minima subspecies.

Olive-Sided Flycatcher at Yellowpoint Ecological Reserve and Wilson's Warbler at Buttertubs Marsh.
I decide to take a break from looking at the birds on display on the water and concentrate on the trees and bushes. There's a lot going on in there but it hard to see what it is. So far I have these two, but Merlin says I missed a lot more.

I thought of waiting till I got them feeding on flowers, but I like the interaction between these Rufous Hummingbirds. And the bee.

Swainson's Thrush at Cowichan Estuary. A wobbly video due partly to having to crouch in an awkward position. Lots of Cedar Waxwings this day too.
