On October 31 we witnessed a National Geographic spectacle by the petroglyphs at East Sooke Regional Park. Hundreds of gulls feasting on small silvery fish. Cormorants were nearby but it was the occasional dive bombing gulls that got our attention. We only had our smartphones, not good enough to photograph the fish but we could see their dark mass in the water as we were no more than 2 meters away from the gulls who were quite disinterested in our presence. My question is this. In Oct/Nov what kind of forage fish would be on the menu? herring, Pacific lance fish. Candlefish/elachon, sardines?https://photos.app.goo.gl/8MJXdzhwprvCFZRy7
