I saw this beautiful bird at Panama Flats in Victoria today between 2-3pm catching bugs over a small pond. It looks close to a Rusty Blackbird, but my guide does not show this particular plumage. Could I get an ID confirmation?

Yep, looks like a Rusty Blackbird to me! Nice find! That's a rarity on the island and anywhere on the coast of the bottom half of BC.

Great find Courtney, hope it stays around there for awhile! Where at Panama Flats was it?

-Enter the flats from Baker St; turn right down the path that runs parallel to Carey St.
-A little way down there's an intersection where another path goes left; go straight (getting closer to Judah Street) through that intersection just a couple steps.
-On the left is a little pond; the Rusty Blackbird was hanging out there for the duration of my visit yesterday 2-3pm.

Hopefully it can be found again!
