Please pardon two somewhat naive questions. I saw what I think is a House Sparrow (first two photos) but it seemed to have uncommonly (to me) bright white markings on its head. Is that the sign of a young bird?

The 3rd and 4th photos show birds a distance offshore. I apologize for the poor resolution. I suspect the first of these photos shows Common Murres but the second photo may also have a Pigeon Guillemot. Could someone please review and confirm or correct me. Thank you and good birding.

As Issac said the bird in the first two photos is a Song Sparrow.

I'm not too sure about the second photo, maybe Pigeon Guillemots or perhaps Marbled Murrelets as Issac sugested.

In the last photo, the bird in the bottom right corner looks like a Pigeon Guillemot and the other two look like Common Murres.
